SATURDAY May 6th
We arrived at the Joensuu airport at 12.45 and our flight to Helsinki left at 14.00. In Helsinki we had a two hour gap between our flights and at the airport we had lunch. Our flight to Budapest left around 17.00 and the flight was around 2,5 hours. When we arrived in Budapest we took a minibus from the airport to the train station. The bus ride was about 45 minutes. We waited for our train at the station with the Greek students and teachers. Our train left for Fonyód at 20.35 and we arrived there at 22.40. The hosts came to pick us up and we went to their homes.

SUNDAY May 7th
In the morning we got to the school and the hosts showed us around. After that we started our first workshop, where we made postcards with recycled materials.

We then had our official opening ceremony. In the ceremony two students showed us folk songs and dances from the local county.

After the performances, we continued with the workshops. We presented our presentations about traditional foods in our countries.

After having lunch in a nearby restaurant, we got on a
boat and went over the lake Balaton. In the other side of the lake we visited a
local restaurant. After being there for a while we walked down the hill back to the
boat and with it back to Fonyód.

MONDAY May 8th
We arrived to the school with our hosts and then got on a bus. We drove to a
town nearby Keszthely and we had time to do some shopping and sightseeing.

We had lunch together and then we drove to Tapolca. There we visited the caves and we paddled through them.

After the caves we drove back to Fonyód and had our workshop of the day. We transferred our presentations about our traditional foods into eTwinning/TwinSpace.
TUESDAY May 9th
In the morning we got on a bus and drove to Patca. There we visited the sustainable farm “Katica Tanya”. There we had time to look around and we did a video about sustainability and what it means.

After the
field trip we headed to Kaposvár and we had lunch on our own. In Kaposvár we
had some time to go shopping. We then got together and drove back to Fonyód.

We went back to the school and had our ending ceremony. We got our certificates and the school gave us a small gift. The teachers gave a present to our teacher Sinikka, as she retires.

WEDNESDAY May 10th
Our train from Fonyód to Budapest left at 6.30 and we arrived at the station at
6.15. The train was in Budapest at around 9 and we took a taxi to the airport. At
the airport we had something to eat and our flight left at around 13.00. Our flight
from Helsinki to Joensuu left at around 17.00 and we arrived in Joensuu at 18.00.
